If you have turned on Share event details for a calendar but your partner can still only see Busy, try the following steps.
Check Calendar Settings
Make sure the setting was saved correctly:
Tap the menu icon (☰). Depending on your app version, it will appear either in the top-left corner of the Home screen or in the bottom-right corner of the tab bar.
Tap Calendar Settings.
Tap Calendar Connections.
Tap the pencil icon next to the calendar.
Make sure Share event details is toggled on.
Tap Save.
Give it a moment
It can take a minute or two for changes to sync through to your partner's app. Ask your partner to close and reopen Cupla, then check again.
Work calendar restriction
If the calendar is a work calendar connected via Direct Connect, your organisation may restrict the event details that third-party apps can access. In this case, events will show as Busy regardless of the Share event details setting — this is an organisation-level restriction and cannot be overridden in Cupla.
There are two ways to work around this:
Switch to a Device Calendar: Add your work calendar to your phone's built-in calendar app first, then connect it to Cupla as a Device Calendar instead of using Direct Connect. See How do I change my calendar events displaying as Busy?
Contact your IT team: Ask them to approve Cupla as an app with full calendar access. See Why am I being asked for workplace permissions when connecting a calendar?
If you are still having trouble, please message our support team from the Cupla app.
