Key Dates in Cupla are the special days you want to keep front of mind — anniversaries, birthdays, travel, milestones, and any other date that matters to you both. Cupla helps you track them, count down to them, and never miss the ones that matter most.
Note: Key Dates are only available once you've connected with your partner. If you haven't connected yet, see How do I sync with my partner?
What to add as a Key Date
Anything important to your relationship that's worth remembering or counting down to. Common examples:
Anniversaries: the day you met, your first date, your engagement, your wedding.
Birthdays: yours, your partner's, family members, close friends.
Travel: upcoming trips, weekends away, visits to family.
Milestones: moving in together, the day a pet joined the family, a child's first day at school.
Long-distance moments: the day you next see each other.
How to add a Key Date
There are three ways to add a Key Date in Cupla.
From More > Key Dates
Open Cupla.
Tap More (bottom right).
Tap Key Dates.
Tap + to add a new Key Date.
Add a title, the date, and optionally a custom image.
Save your changes.
From your home screen
Once you've added at least one Key Date, your home screen will display upcoming Key Dates. To add another:
On the home screen, tap View all in the Key Dates section.
Tap the + button in the top right.
Add a title, the date, and optionally a custom image.
Save your changes.
From a calendar event
You can turn any calendar event into a Key Date — useful if it's already in your calendar (an anniversary you've set as a recurring event, a planned trip, a wedding) and you want to count down to it.
Open the event in your Cupla calendar.
Toggle on Key Date.
Save your changes.
The event will now appear in your Key Dates list and count down on your home screen.
However you add it, your Key Date is shared with your partner and will appear in their Cupla too.
Counting down to a Key Date
Once you've added a Key Date, Cupla will show a countdown to it. There are three places you can see countdowns:
In the Cupla app: Upcoming Key Dates appear on your home screen, counting down automatically.
On your phone's home screen with the Countdown widget: Add the Countdown widget to your phone's home screen to see the time remaining to your next event or a specific Key Date of your choice. See What widgets are available in Cupla? and How to add a Cupla widget on your iPhone?
Reminders: Cupla can send you a reminder as a Key Date approaches, so it doesn't sneak up on you.
Tips
Add a meaningful image. Personalising each Key Date with a photo makes the countdowns feel more special.
Add Key Dates early. The earlier you add them, the longer you get to look forward to them.
Don't forget the small ones. Birthdays of in-laws, godchildren, or close friends are easy to lose track of — adding them to Cupla means both of you will remember.
