Under Calendar Settings > Calendar Connections, you may see two ways to connect calendars to Cupla: Direct Connect and Device Calendars.
Direct Connect
Direct Connect connects your Google or Outlook account directly with Cupla. Calendar syncing happens off your device, so Cupla does not rely on the calendar being synced through your phone's built-in calendar app.
This can be useful if the calendar is not available on your device, or if you do not plan to regularly open Cupla and want syncing to keep happening in the background.
Note: When connecting a calendar through Direct Connect, you may be asked to choose between Personal and Work. This choice sets the permission level Cupla can use. Work calendars can sometimes restrict access to free/busy information only, which means events may show as Busy instead of showing the full event details. Try selecting Personal first. If that does not work, select Work.
Device Calendars
Device Calendars are calendars that are already available on your phone, such as calendars synced through iCal, Google Calendar, Outlook, or another calendar account on your device.
When you select a Device Calendar in Cupla, Cupla reads the calendar information from your phone. This means the calendar first needs to be set up and syncing correctly on your device.
Which option should I use?
Use Direct Connect if the calendar is not available on your device.
Use Direct Connect if you do not plan to regularly open Cupla and want calendar syncing to happen off your device.
Use Device Calendars if the calendar is already available on your device and syncing correctly there.
